Today in the capital Delhi, by Jawaharlal Nehru University and Chakra Foundation organized A grand ceremony on the Bhoomi-Pujan of the Tribute wall of the immortal martyrs in the courtyard of the country.
In this program, three families of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland were honoured. One of them was from Ghazipur district of UP. The grandson of the freedom fighter Late Shri Devnarayan Rai of Sherpur village and the country’s well-known social entrepreneur Shri Sanjay Sherpuriya was honoured in this function.
In this program, JNU Vice Chancellor Professor Pandit, Member of Parliament Mr. Bidhudi, Mr. Chakra Rajasekhar of Chakra Foundation, Speaker of Pondicherry Mr. Selvam and many dignitaries were present and spoken about the legacy of the freedom fighters of the country. Shri Sanjay Sherpuriya, who was honoured in this function asked that, today I have got the honour on the land of J.N.U.
I am proud of my motherland Sherpur and 99 freedom fighters who were martyred for our Nation. This honour is not mine but it is for brave fighters of my Sherpur village.
